Refunds

What changed
- First published. This is the same promise as the homepage, written so a receipt can link to it.
01The promise
Corrections — a wrong name, a wrong date, a mispronunciation — are free and unlimited, forever. If the whole direction is wrong, you get one full rewrite. If you would rather have your money back, say the word and I will refund you. You do not have to try the rewrite first.
Email hello@songmethis.com from the address you used to pay, and say which song and what you want — a fix, a rewrite, or a refund.
02Corrections
A correction fixes something that is wrong. The song is not finished until the facts are right. There is no window and no charge, and a correction never uses up your rewrite.
03Rewrites
A rewrite is a change of direction: different angle, different tone, different emphasis. One is included per song. No clock. Tell me what was off.
04Refunds
A refund is the full amount you paid for that song, including the $29 rush fee if you paid one. On an EP or album, I refund the unused or returned song at the per-song price you paid, unless you ask me to unwind the whole purchase.
Unused songs on an EP or album never expire. If you decide you do not want them, I will refund those too.
I refund to the original payment method when Stripe will let me. I am aiming for a few days, not a few weeks.
05You keep the song
A refund does not take the file back. The personal-use licence in the Terms continues. I will not pretend I can claw back an MP3.
06If I am late
Standard delivery is within three days. Rush is 24 hours. If I miss a rush deadline, the rush fee is refunded at a minimum. If I miss the song entirely, you get a refund of what you paid for it.
07If I decline the song
I can decline a song — including because I do not want to make it — and refund you. Some requests I will not take payment for at all; those are listed in the Terms.
08Chargebacks
If something is wrong, email me first. A refund is faster than a dispute and it does not put the payment account at risk. I will not punish you for a chargeback, and I will not take unused songs away as a penalty. I would rather make it right.
