A few years ago I started writing songs again, about getting sober, mostly. Three albums’ worth. Then friends started asking me to make ones for them, and I’ve been doing it ever since. Sober anniversaries, a 5K, a World Cup match, a friend who made it to the pros at thirty-one.

What if nobody replies?
Then I write from your story alone. Inviting people is optional. The song does not wait on them, and delivery does not either.
Do they need an account?
No. They open a link, type, hit send. Like replying to a text. No app, no sign-up.
Does the song wait on them?
Never. You can pay and start whenever you like. Stories that land later can still go in.
How many people should I invite?
Two or three is plenty. Extra people cost nothing. You can send the link after the song exists, too.
Is this AI?
Partly, and here’s exactly which part. I write the lyrics. A person reads your story and decides what goes in the song. The voice and the music are generated. I’m not going to dress that up, and I’m not going to put a made-up artist’s name on it.
What if it’s not good?
Tell me what’s wrong and I’ll do it again. One rewrite is included and I don’t run a clock on it. If it’s still not right after that, I’ll refund you. And if you’d rather skip straight to the refund, say so and that’s fine too.
Will it get the names right?
Yes. Before I record anything I send you the facts I’m working from, names and spellings and dates, and you tell me what’s wrong. This is the thing the big services get wrong most often and it’s the easiest thing in the world to get right.
How long does it take?

What do I actually get?
Three versions of the song. You pick the one you want. A private page with a link you can send, and a file you can keep. Lyrics I wrote from the stories. One rewrite included.
Can I pick the style?
Yes. You can tell me who it should sound like, or skip it and I’ll work from the story. You still pick which of the three versions is right.
Can I use it? Post it? Play it at a thing?
Personal, family, and private use — a wedding, a birthday, a funeral, a reunion, and sharing the link or the file with people you love. Personal social posts that aren’t monetized are fine. Ads, stores, and anything you get paid for need a separate yes. The full list is on the Terms page.
Who else sees it?
Nobody. The page is a private link and it isn’t indexed. Your stories aren’t published or sold and they don’t train anything. Ask me to delete them and I will.
Is it weird to get a song about yourself?
The people who do this most are the ones who’ve been through something other people didn’t fully see. It’s not a gift you’re giving yourself. It’s a record of a thing that happened.
